Edible Christmas decorations

What’s not to love about an edible Christmas decoration? These edible decorations are easy to make and even easier to eat!

You need:

  • 250g bag of peppermints
  • Bakers twine
  • Cookie sheet

Method:
  1. Cut twine in 10cm increments, fold in half and place on tray
  2. Unwrap peppermints and lay on tray in a flower shape, or to your desired shape
  3. Bake for 15 minutes at 250 degrees
  4. Cool for 15 minutes 








Homemade popsicles

When the Christmas heat strikes, you’ll be sure to impress your family and friends with this deliciously cool and refreshing treat!

Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup sugar 
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
Method:
  1. Put sugar and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to boil over high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
  2. Combine sugar water, strawberries and lemon juice in a blender and purée until smooth, (about 30 seconds). 
  3. Transfer purée to popsicle molds and freeze 4 hours. Insert popsicle sticks and freeze an additional 4 to 6 hours, or until frozen solid.


Pool Noodle Candy Canes

Stuck for a way to entertain the kids through the Christmas break? We’ve got you covered. Not only are they loads of fun to make, you’ll might get a visit from Santa for your excellent efforts.

You need:
  • Fishing wire
  • White pool noodle
  • Waterproof red ribbon
  • Pins
Method:
  1. Bend the top third of the pool noodle and secure it in place with a loop of fishing line.
  2. Secure ribbon from base of noodle using the pins. 
  3. Wind the ribbon around the noodle. Secure with pins.
  4. Use fishing line to hang to around the home.
